Design Story

The centre panel carries a moonlit Gothic cathedral, spires stacked in layered depth, a pale full moon anchoring the upper field and a small warm glow burning low in the courtyard. That single point of light is the focal structure — everything else recedes into tonal blue-grey. Around it, a gilded scrollwork border frames the scene with circular medallions: ravens in profile, an open book, a heraldic crest. The palette stays restrained, near-monochrome, so the gold reads as line rather than mass. Negative space in the sky keeps the composition from collapsing under detail.

Room & Styling

As a rug, the centred composition wants breathing room — a coffee table floating over the moon field, or seating pulled back so the border stays unbroken. The heavy border does the visual work at standing distance; the cathedral detail rewards you up close. Scale it as the room anchor, not an accent, and let dark timber floors carry the edge relationship.
